The Importance of Being Content No Matter Where you are:

Some of you may feel like your optimum selves at home, in a position of power but as soon as you're put into an uncomfortable environment you fall back into your "old self".

Some might go on a holiday retreat for a month and come back glowing but before you know it you're back to the same patterns, habits and self-destruction.

True, profound inner change will effect all aspects of your life. Whether you are in a stressful or peaceful environment.

Now you don't have to expose yourself to toxic environments constantly. But if you are unable to enjoy the beauty of simply what is, then your personal developmental progress may only be skin deep.

You can notice profound change when that part of you becomes the new "constant". You may have moments you slip in and out of but when it comes to lasting change, you can be anywhere and feel as though you are content with yourself.

When we explore aspects of ourselves and go on a journey of self-healing and self-awareness it is fundamental to really reach your core.

There's a quote along the lines of

"If you think you're enlightened go spend a week with your family"

- Ram Dass

This really sums it up. It's a lot easier in the short term to work on yourself only on the surface level and not address the core issues. However, in the long run you may realise you are back to square one everytime your environment changes.

It is a daunting task, and it may take a while but it's all about breaking old habits and patterns, re-wiring your brain and shifting your focus and energy.

"Where focus goes energy flows"
