A great rum: Ron the Jeremy 27 years of age
My brother in law called if I would like to come over to have a drink. He had something special for us. Of course I was curious about what special he would have, so when I got there he showed me...
It was a rum by Ron Jeremy (yes the Ron Jeremy of the xxx movies). I even didn't knew he was into rum. But I've been told he is quiet a hot-shot in Rum world.
The rum was 27 years of age, so a real collectors item... That way I asked my brother in law if he didn't want to spare the bottle but he insist on drinking a glass together, so we did.
I must admit, I was never a real Rum guy, I am more into whisky and beer, but this one tasted just awesome. it was strong but with a real good flavor and not a sharp throat afterwards.

So besides his film aspirations Ron did found something else in spirits where he is very successful.
The average rum price is ok, with some exceptions of course... If you like rum, try it some times :)

Whisky is fel overroepen, de prijs is veeeeel te hoog voor wat het (meestal) is. Bier begint stilletjes aan ook al in dezelfde richting aan het gaan.
Daarom ben ik een tijdje geleden overgestapt op rum. En ik moet zeggen dat er hele fijne en lekkere tussen zit met een milde prijs erop.
Maar ook hier, net zoals bij whisky, zit veel "vuurwater" dat niet te drinken is.
Ongetwijfeld was dit flesje super lekker (ben zelfs een beetje jaloers) En wie weet is dit voor jou ook het moment om over te stappen van W naar R...

Whisky is weer helemaal hip inderdaad :) En dan krijg je natuurlijk vraag / aanbod. Ik haal ook nooit geen hele dure flessen, dat is het me niet waard. Rum heb ik nog nooit zo gedronken eigenlijk als een 'whisky' maar het bevalt me eigenlijk erg goed en ik zal zeker mijn eerstvolgende fles rum laten zijn :)
That looks like a nice bottle of rum. And i guess that a 27 year old tastes very smooth and you didn't ruined it with some coke.

So you just sipped it? That is interesting. I usually drink my spiced rum with coke. It is my go to drink. I can put a lot of captains and coke down before I get loopy.

For me I only knew Rum with coke, never pure.. But now i've tried it, it was very good !!
