Time Travel - Multiple Possibilities, Theories and Analysis - It might even be happening right now!

in #blog7 years ago

UFO's, Aliens, Time Travel or pretty much anything Sci-Fi I spend way too much time thinking about. Recently I have focused my thoughts onto Time-Travel and I am convinced that it is possible to achieve and that it might have already been done.

First let's discuss What is Time? Some will say that it is an entirely human construct and that it doesn't really exist. Well bullshit! Time exists with or without human presence or interference. There are others who believe that time is non-linear, that it travels in a circle and has no beginning or end.....that it repeats itself ever so often.

Personally I believe that time is even more complex than that. I believe that everything that exists (that has matter) has it's own Time associated with it. Or at least the super massive stuff like stars, moons, planets, suns, etc. In my belief of Time there are trillions upon trillions of Time Lines each associated with the existence of some stellar object. Furthermore, I believe that all Time Lines are bound together like a ball of rubber bands wound be. They all intersect, overlap and are interconnected with each other.

If time exists as I believe it does then several theories on how time travel might be possible also exist.

Theory #1 - Jumping Time Lines

Imagine you where standing on a rubber band that was part of a Rubber Band Ball. You develop the ability to detect (see) other rubber bands on that Sphere. Each of those other rubber bands is a different time line. Each of those rubber bands also is a different point in the universe because the rubber band (time line) you are on is associated with Earth while the others are associated with other celestial objects. Now, lets say, you find a way to step from your rubber band (time line) onto another rubber band (time line). You essentially just stepped through both time and space.

The problem with this theory is, even if it is proven to be possible it would be unusable unless you could map out every single time line in existence as well as every single second of each of those time lines. Otherwise you might step into a new time line for a planet 100 million light years from Earth that doesn't exist yet and wind up floating in deep space until you eventually become part of that planet as it forms.

However, if a method was developed to know exactly where and when you would be stepping when you crossed from one timeline to another you could theoretically find a point where your timeline intersected with Mars near the same point in it's timeline that you currently exist then you could instantaneously cross from Earth to Mars, changing timelines but still being in the same Time as you where in on Earth's timeline....meaning you could communicate with your colleagues back on Earth (across timelines).

Imagine the possibilities if this method every became a reality and was properly mapped out. You could literally go anywhere in time or space instantly, even if you had to jump from point to point to get to your final destination it would only take a few seconds.

Theory #2 - Traveling between Time Machines

This is one of the more popular theories in Time Travel. Basically it states that Time Travel is only possible back to the point the first time machine was developed, or forward only as far as the last time machine operates.

In this theory you would never cross time lines, just move forward and backward in your own Time Line. Thus it would be possible to do some really fucked up things like prevent yourself from ever existing, assuming you changed something in the past that caused your parents to never get their freak on.

Now the definition of time machine varies greatly and some believe that a machine may not even be necessary to make a one-way trip using this theory. It is theorized that it would be possible at time point in the future to travel back to the 1940's when the first Atomic Bomb was detonated as the energy needed to receive you would exist at that point. Of course it would be a one-way trip and you might beg dropped off in the blast radius and incinerated on arrival.

Theory #3 - Time Dilation Time Travel

During the Apollo Moon Missions it was observed that time traveled slower onboard the Apollo Capsule than it did on Earth. It was later proven that this was due to Time Dilation because of the speed the Capsule was traveling. The Capsule was only traveling at a fraction of a percent of the speed of light but still people on Earth aged a few seconds faster per day than the Apollo Crew did.

Now imagine if you could travel through space at the speed of light for 1 year before returning to Earth. That would be one year relative to you, in your space ship. Ten or more years would have passed on Earth by the time you returned. Every human alive, except you, would swear you where gone for 10 year and relative to them you where.

Now if a method to travel 10 times the speed of light where developed and you traveled for 1 year at that speed, when you returned to Earth a thousand years would have passed. While this might not be technically Time Travel it would be a way for some people to get to the far flung future in a short period of time.

Theory #4 - Black Holes

We know that the gravitational force of a Black Hole is so great that night even light can escape it. We also suspect that time virtually stops at the event horizon of a black hole. Now imagine you built a ship capable of withstanding the forces found at the event horizon and was able to anchor there without being sucked in.

Depending on the mass of the black hole you might sit there anchored to the event horizon for 1 week relative to you while 10 million years passed to everyone back on Earth.

Again, this might not technically be Time Travel but again it would be a way for some people to rapidly get to the far flung future.

Theory #5 - Super Energy Vortices

Almost everyone alive today has seen a Cyclone/Hurricane/Tornado/Water Spout or Whirlpool. Imagine being able to concentrate enough energy at a fixed point in space that it literally ripped a hole to another point in space and/or time. This would be similar to Theory #1 in that traveling through such a Vortice would likely shift you in space and to a different Time Line.

However, with this theory it would be possible to go back and forth if the Vortice was stable or to take a way to reopen the Vortice back to your own time and space with you when you traveled. This is basically the same theory that would allow a Stargate or Worm Hole to operate on, but there is no guarantee that it would only affect space. In fact I am almost certain that it would effect time as well, just like a black hole does.

This is by far my favorite theory though, because if perfected, it would allow for continuous and frequent travel to anywhere at any time. Imagine a fleet of space ships equipped with this for their primary propulsion system that could instantaneously travel to Earth's Past or to far flung galaxies.

Imagine being able to send millions of drones back throughout Earth's past and record in full high definition audio and video every second of this planets existence, along with every second of existence for everything that ever lived on this planet. We could answer so many questions, see any animal any time, know where all the bank robbers like Jessie James hid their loot and so much more. We could go back and prevent Hitler, Saddam Hussein, Barrack Obama and more from ever being born.

We could end every war, conflict and fight that ever happened before it ever began. We could stop diseases and famines before they ever existed. Prevent natural disasters killing millions of people a year and so much more.

Needless to say of all the Scientific stuff humanity is working on none of them compare to the possibilities if this Theory #5 was turned into a reality.

Too much thought went into the article to try and find pictures to fit the content.....didn't wanna think anymore!

Fair enough. I would suggest in future to find at the very least just one. This way your work will have a better chance of being viewed. Without a thumbnail pic, people are less likely to read.

I honestly don't really care if people read it......I write it more for my benefit than anyone elses.....but with that said, if I make some money off it that is awesome too!

That would make you one of the few who actually write here for the correct reason. And for that I salute you sir!

As a photographer I have a big library of images, so if you do ever happen to want an original pic to create a thumbnail image (which the system will recognise as being original and reward you for) you only have to ask :)
