Around the 3:13 mark in the video, Marques talks about one of my favorite new features included in the new iOS: managing screen time. It allows you to track the amount of time spent on apps, and you can set time limits on certain apps that you want to use less. It temporarily locks you out once you've exceeded the limit, but sadly it is easy to bypass the lockout. I'm curious to see how many people utilize this feature, and if it's successful at curbing people's usage.  

2. The flying taxi company planning to launch in New Zealand 

Definitely will wait a while before I get into one of these, fortunately people like Casey Neistat are brave enough. In this video he goes through a flight simulator, and tomorrow he plans to pilot a smaller one-man version of the flying contraption.

I saw this movie yesterday, and the one thing I can say for certain is that it is in the top 1% of films I've seen. The quote above from the writer/director of the film is the perfect synopsis. This movie is like watching a nightmare unfold. The film has many dream like qualities, but definitely not a dream you want to have anytime soon. Regardless of you enjoying the movie, it will be very thought/conversation provoking. My friend and I talked about it for a solid hour afterwards. The horror aspect is impressive, but the themes regarding family disfunction will surely spark the most discussion. 

4. How Do We Know the Earth Is 4.6 Billion Years Old? (Smithsonianmag.com)

Earlier today I was wondering how science reached the 4.6 billion number. I had previously thought it had to do with carbon dating, and even the article linked above mentions carbon dating. Unfortunately the answer is uranium lead dating. Carbon dating can only date back things 40,000-50,000 years, where as uranium lead dating can reach back billions of years since it has a half life of 4.5 billion years.  

5. When Everything Clicks: The Power Of Judgment-Free Learning (Hidden Brain NPR Podcast) 

This is a fantastic podcast describing a learning technique most people are familiar with, but we typically only think of it in the context of dogs. Several experts talk about how using a clicker could be useful for human learning. I plan to test this out in the athletic performance realm. Will report back.
