Various media outlets have been attacked in several places in the capital while performing their professional duties in the ongoing movement of the students. Apart from this, obstacles and attacks in Uttara, Banani, Science Lab, LabAid, Shahbagh and Rampura areas also resulted in the incidents of attack on journalists. Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Ramna Division's Deputy Commissioner (DC) Maruf Hossain Sardar told reporters, who are trying to find out who the attackers are. It would have been possible to arrest them if they provided information during the attack. If there is any wrongdoing, police will be examined to prevent the attacks and if there is evidence, departmental action will be taken.

Witnesses said the students of Dhaka University and BUET in the streets protested against the attacks on protesters at around 1pm on Saturday. There were allegations that protesting students in the Uttara areas prevented the movement of journalists' movements. Some journalists went to the Uttara House Building on the footover bridge and a group of students came forward towards them. Later, another team student came down from the overbridge of the journalists. Concerned students who took positions in Banani, also stopped the journalists from taking photographs.
