 “The illiterate of the future will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn and relearn.” 

The above mentioned quote is one celebrated saying of Alvin Toffle who has deep meaning to it. It not only lights up the minds with the candles of wisdom but also teaches us the way, one should act to become a prolific member of the society.

Man-Always eager to achieve better

Man is a social animal, always seeking for attention, always wanting himself to come out on top in every walks of life, always looking for betterment.  He, although possesses undaunted vision in his mind, but there are times when he might find himself lacking the strength that drives him purposefully towards his goals accomplishment. Here in this world, we have a battle of superiority. 

No one would ever want him to be inferior to the other person in any manner whatsoever. This holds true for almost every kind of man, woman, boy or a girl. When we speak of supremacy, we direct our minds towards the very essence of nobility that is prevalent in our society.  Yes, our society wouldn’t forgive you if you are no educated enough, the society men wouldn’t spare you if you aren’t skilled.

In this era, who really is an Illiterate?

But what exactly do these words mean? What is the meaning of illiteracy in its real sense? Does illiteracy mean, the attribute of a person that he is unable to read, write or comprehend writing of various forms? Well, to some extent, it might be true, but speaking in a broader spectrum, the initially mentioned quote has its worth, that truly defines the real meaning of an illiterate individual.  

As we have moved into the 21st century, with so much of technological advancements and innovations already taking place quite so often, the meaning to illiteracy has also significantly been altered. Now, in this era, the one who is not capable of learning new things, bringing in innovative ideas, undoing the older thoughts and beliefs and replacing them with newer ones, and modifying himself so as to adjust with the all time changing and advancing society, is called as an illiterate. 

He could be even a graduate in English Literature, he could be even a philosopher, he could be even a scientist, he could be anyone, if in case he doesn’t have the requisite attributes of a literate man in modern times. Keeping yourself abreast to the latest ongoing trends in the technological market is one of the biggest challenges to face, and by far it is the most testing features one can have, to keep himself updated and well versed with the ongoing technological advancements. 

Now, those individuals who are able to keep themselves on track with such trends, can learn the newest trends, unlearn the outmoded methodology and relearn the modified trend so as to make themselves aligned with future trends.
