Sea caves at the sunset 🌅

in #blog7 years ago

The evening promised to be quiet and calm. The light ropes of clouds slowly drifted off the horizon and seemed to come back in the form of shaggy gray waves.
There is a small dusty road to the east of Ayia Napa.
The bushes on the roadside tiredly scattered the branches that had dried up in the sun and turned into brown amusing silhouettes.

To the left is a wasteland, future buildings and stooping hills.
On the right is a glistening sea spilled out over the whole expanse, reflecting the disk of the departing sun.
The surf is beating its rhythm on the rocks, which softly echos this magical melody in the depths of their caves.

Not many people know that from the seaside the rocks are dotted with small and large caves, a lagoon and grottoes in many places. They are visible only from the sea, only a brave and a courageous romantic heart gets the access to them. :)
From a distance they look like honeycombs, over which the bees have worked properly, constructing an almost proportional architectural ensemble.

From a scientific point of view, it is necessary to thank mother nature, volcanoes and time for such a great hiding places. Cyprus is an island of volcanic origin. And who knows how many millennia it took for the island to become what it is today.

By the way, Cyprus remains seismically active.
Almost every day there are underground micro-shocks, which we, thank God, do not even feel.
This fact is so amazing!
After all, it turns out that every day the island changes by drop, breathes - just like a living organism. In moments of such meditations one more time comes to mind a thought about huge number of civilizations there were before us, that thought gives me a goosebumps.

How ancient this land is!

Now the island seems to me like a wise old man, with a broad soul-sea, with the gray hair of morning mists.
He continually grumbles about the lived centuries, but at the same time shares his wisdom and beauty, which was absorbed in every millimeter.

When I carefully descended the wet bends of the rock, the sun was already low.
It rolled faster and faster over the mountains, as if yawning with a pink mouth, giving the waves a charming glare.

The water cooled and relaxed warmed up in the heat of the day body and thoughts.
And so I stand by the light blue clear water, above me - powerful rocks gathered stone by stone, and the magic light of the sunset penetrates in the small incision of this stone block. It gives the cave a special charm and radiance.
I feel myself the hero of Jules Verne, who is about to solve the mystery of this wonderful island.

The sunset photo is very romantic. Would love to visit some of those Cyprus beaches.

I could stay at this place forever :D
