Mini road trip to Lefkosia

On the way from Ayia Napa to Lefkosia there is an empty high way.
Only a few cars can pass by, and a very few trees on the both sides of the way.

Mostly you'll see small hills. They are brown during summer time, but in winter they will be reborn in all shades of green.
All the beauty of the island seems to be hidden behind those dry hills.

But the moment you enter Lefkosia district everything changes.
Thin shroud of the morning fog, the smell of bonfires, which enters the window of the car with a surprisingly fresh breeze - all that makes my soul sing.

First thing you see - the line of majestic mountains Pendadaktylos, acting as a natural defense above the red-hot city.

Palm trees, green bushes, traffic, old town and newer buildings.
It's like a modern city breathes with the ancient soul and gorgeous nature.
And all of this is so woven together that it remains only to hold your breath and plunge into this city.

Almost every big city in the world you can easily call a city of contrasts.
Everywhere we can find poor and rich houses, old and new buildings, clean and dirty areas.

What I like about Lefkosia - the city is so ancient, that even new buildings get old fast))
But a few years ago suddenly completely modern buildings started to appear.
Hope, they gonna last longer)
