Nerding it up - How @artist1989 and I will be spending our wedding anniversary weekend :)
@artist1989 and I are celebrating our wedding anniversary this weekend. We had been brainstorming what to do to try and make it "special" and had come up with several ideas - going on a road-trip and staying in a hotel, driving around and looking at people's Christmas lights, going to some fancy restaurants..
Well we started our weekend out going to a mall (we like to shop), and the first store we decided to stop in was a video game store. One thing led to another, and the next thing you know we bought a "Retron 2" system. It is basically a 'hardware emulator' that lets you play all the Nintendo Classic and Super NES games. We picked up a copy of the original Mario 3 for Nintendo, and Super Mario World for NES.
Now we know how we will be spending the rest of our weekend - Nerding it up!!
Note - we probably will still do some actual romantic stuff later - but only after we beat the Mario games :-)

Honestly, I think making big deals and celebrating them in big fashion leads to stress. Hubby and I love to cook so we spend the money on delicious ingredients. And then usually go into a Netflix coma....in your case nerding it up. LOL It's all good as long as you're with one another, right? :D
Yes :-) Thanks! We like to be sentimental, but we definitely want to avoid making it stressful. Basically we just want to have a fun memorable weekend together. A small Netflix coma will probably be part of the mix too, hehe.
How long? Is this the 1st one? When someone says it's an anniversary, the number is significant. :)
edit: By the way, look at my blog stats. My 1,000th post is this one. On timcliff's blog, about his anniversary, and with me talking about numbers being significant. It is like it was made to be. lol.
We have been together for about 8.5 years now, but we just got married last year - so this is our first anniversary :)
