Stock Up Your Freezer With Reduced Produce!

in #blog7 years ago

I know, I know, "Ewww Walmart, I avoid it like the plague!"

I do know many people say that, they avoid shopping at Walmart, just like they (try to) avoid the plague. Why? Well because to many, the quality of the products sold at Walmart are blah to them, not to mention the famous people of Walmart, yes those unbelievable pictures of people shot at Walmart, the good, the ugly, the funny, the yucky, that our #teamcanada leader @thegoldenarms once awhile blog about 😂, they really do easily be seen at Walmart more than at any other grocery stores, sadly. But, as we don't have many choices in our small city, Walmart is a great store for us😉

I am all about supporting the locals and Canadians owned, but Walmart is much more affordable for our income and plus, the produce are often better! Yeah, I know, shocking! 😁

Anyhoo, what I want to share today is the reduced produce racks that Walmart has!

Have you ever checked them out? Those produce are often still in superb quality, and they are only $1 per bag! Amazeballs! They could really stock up the freezer.

When you are a vegan, those racks are heaven sent 😂

I got tons of bags and bags and bags of these still awesome and fresh bell peppers

Some other times avocados! When they are normally $4 - $5 a bag and reduced to $1? Wowzer!

Bananas too! Perfect to make nice cream (vegan ice cream), banana bread and muffins. Awesome-sauce👍👍👍👍

Check out how many bags of pears, nectar and peaches I prepped for the freezer! Hellooooo smoothies! Yum!

So when you are out and about in Walmart, check if your branch has this reduced produce racks, maybe you can stock up your freezer with good produce too!

Thanks for looking!

All Walmart's with produce sections have these. If they have say a bag of apples and a couple are going bad, they throw those out and offer the rest at reduced prices. Or is something is close to getting old they slash the price. Walmart's have been focused as major food wasters so the reduced racks are to recoup some of the money they'd normally waste and keep the food out of the trash. Walmart's lock their garbage bins now to keep nosy reporters out so the public can't see how much they waste. I've seen them in the local news throwing out say 12 muffins and not even taking them out of the plastic..they just fire it all in the trash. Like you said tho those reduced racks have great deals if you're smart enuff to buy off em, the stuff isn't bad and freezing it for smoothies and such is a terrific idea.

My Aussie friend works at Walmart, she said it's due to the insurance policy. They don't want to be held responsible should someone gets sick of so called expired or best before date foods. Even the employees aren't allowed to take those home which they find it to be such a shame.

I just realized I tagged your name incorrectly hey @goldenarms

Halo Kanada. Apa kabar. Jangan lupa kunjungi blog saya.

Still confused why that products is on reduced produce racks while they still on good quality? Hmmm.

Surga sekaliii 😂😂

Excellent tip! My boyfriend got me a chest freezer last year for Christmas so I could do more of this, as well. It really is amazing what stores will get rid of that is still just fine to use with a little creativity!

We have 3 freezers at home as my husband used to go hunting. But vegan wife, no more hunting. They are full with veggies, fruits and whatnot 😂
