Interesting and Disappointing
It truly is interesting and at the same time disappointing see how some of the things have played out since I wasn't active on steem for months. On a post a few back @tribesteemup dropped a very nice vote and checked to see if they left a comment, nothing. This was odd so I looked at Steemworld and the comment was there.
Right there in the comment is the explanation of why I didn't at first see the comment. They have been filtered out and their voice has been neutralized unless you are looking for it. For someone that missed all of the drama this is interesting on a few levels. That it can happen is interesting. Basically that is saying who cares what stake you have someone else can decide if your voice matters. Next that it actually did happen. Both of these things are also disappointing to me.
Facebook censoring the comments and postings of others is something people have to deal with. It's their sandbox and you haven't invested any money into that sandbox so to bad. It's still shady and leaves a lot of people wishing a better alternative would rise up, but still you really don't have a leg to stand on when it's a free platform.
Not sure how this makes me feel about Steem or any other crypto blogging platform...need to think about this before I decide how to move forward.
I think that most people have left. Mostly spammers here. but all the work you put in is transferred to Hive. Everyone you helped is probably doing well there.
It really does feel this way. I'm going to give Hive a test here, but honestly not seeing interaction there either.
more than here :) And a bunch of us have moved to Uptrennd. The token is really low but it is set up in a way that the playing field is more equal.
Sadly, it has pretty much become a ghost town around here, and engagement on posts has pretty much dropped to zero. Only a handful of the "old" users remain, and most are just waiting for their powerdowns to end in another couple of weeks, or so...
This does seem like the overall consensus. Really sad to see it turn out like this. So many hours put into trying to grow steem and help keep newer users active. Hate seeing this happen.
Everything was ported with the hard fork, all the work and effort is still there on the new chain.
I decided to test to see if I ran a daily Pimp Your Post and a Daily Drop a Meme here on steem what the results would be. So far 1 person other then myself has even dropped a link. Someone suggested I post in their community to get more eyes on the posts, still nothing.
Might have to just move those 2 over to Hive and see how they do there. Something quick and simple to try and help people get some extra interaction.

@kennyskitchen I have also been sending people here including some that invested heavily in Steem. I now feel like an idiot for making that referral. Before at least it was everything that was down and there was hope for a recovery. Just don't see how that can happen currently. My Brother Inlaw is down well over $20k in real money for his efforts in investing in Steem. I'm down a bunch too, but no where near what him and a few others did.
@kennyskitchen and I'm posting the serious stuff from my last few days of life on hive now. Seems like more engagement over there. Just posted and had 2 comments within 5 minutes from people I've missed chatting with.

... any dissent is not tolerated "in here" and one of the many reasons I am leaving (my 100% upvote is now essentially worthless ...). The bands of "vigilantes" out on either blockchain "riding around" and looking for those to punish is growing ...
The lack of interaction with most of the people I know, as well as the "smoking ruins" of all of the apps which used to be present are just additional motivators for me.
What remains? Those who have, at least in my judgment, made some serious compromises to principle to "bow" to the reality of there really being only one account with which anyone needs to be concerned.
