A Short Summary Of Why democracy Is A Terrible Ideology.

People argue that democracy within government is the best thing to ever be established in a western society. I personally think otherwise, simply due to the fact that a percentage of the population voting for a particular way of life to be enforced is no different than being under the dictatorship of a single man or women.

By allowing democracy you are allowing for the majority to prohibit things that you may like or dislike and allows for zero equal opportunity to apose an ideology. To put it into perspective, 51% of the population could vote for the likes of gay marriage to be illegal under the policies of the elected representative of the political party for which that candidate is fronting for; this would mean that anyone within the other 49% of the population that just so happens to be homosexual would not be allowed to marry and if they decided to anyway they would be forced not to against their will. That is why democratic government disgusts me and destroys the individual liberty of the person, that person no longer has control of their own body for the threat of force is evident.

Furthermore the dangers of democracy are far greater than dictating what one may do in the privacy of their bedroom. Democracy has also been at the forefront of war, death and suffering throughout human history, this, I think we can all agree, makes that thing we call democracy an incredibly bad thing to be promoting within our governments. Arguably the way forward would be to promote the liberty's of the individual rather than the rights and liberty's of the collective. We saw this throughout the industrial revolution for which companies would hire people based on their skill set and what they can provide for the company, rather than the needs of the person seeking employment.

Focusing on individual needs does not require those around them to bend their practices in order to maintain persistent focus on the liberty of the person. A persons liberty, through the eyes of self ownership, eliminates the mass suffering of large populations and simply leaves a single individual person to suffer whether by a fault of their own or the fault of an associate. This as a whole is far better than the collectivist thought of democracy and therefore less suffering occurs and more people are able to thrive without the union of the collective.

I will end this short summery with a quote from a individualist advocate known as Wendy McElroy; "voting is not an act of political freedom, it is an act of political conformity Those who refuse to vote are not expressing silence. They are screaming in the politicians ear: 'you do not represent me, this is not a process in which my voice matters, i do not believe you' "
