Building: The Looping 50'
The Looping 50 is a French designed 50′ performance oriented cruising catamaran.
The build is planned to take 1 year, As I am new here I'd like to show everyone what I do for work and where we are on construction atm
The images show the construction of the hull frames on a strong back. Hulls are built using strip-planked CoreCell™ cut, routed, glued then screwed onto frames.
Using pvc tubes with butyl tape to keep everything in a nice line and all frames parallel
Then we can start adding the cut and routed Corecell
And cut and shape
Missing the photos for the first hull, but glue, glass, bag, vacuum and primer
Then fairing compound and a ton of sanding
Moar sanding!
Eventually we can put on an anti-osmosis barrier coat and flip the first hull!
Well now that we have the hang of things, let's bang out hull #2

And sanding again
Then just some photos of the 2nd Hull flip
Finally we get an idea of what it will look like
In the mean time we had been cleaning out, filling and glassing the inside of Hull #1
Next to install some beams connecting the hulls
Starting to install some keels and bulkheads.
