How to write a WINNING blog post on steemit

in #blog7 years ago (edited)

This post is all about writing a hot blog post on steemit and getting those well-earned steemit upvotes.  You will learn how to structure your post for the best results.

Okay so let’s get started with this…  I’ve created a 7-step guide to creating the ultimate hot blog post on steemit.

1.    ATTENTION GRABBING HEADLINE

Your headline is one of the essential elements of your blog post, if you can’t get people’s attention then you have a problem.  Nobody wants to create content the will not be read, liked or in the case of steemit voted up.

You need to create a headline that intrigues readers and makes them want to click through to find out more.  E.g. I’m making money from 1 hours work a week… find out how.

2.    EYE-CATCHING PICTURE

A picture speaks a thousand words they say and is very true in the blogging world.  A post with an eye-catching picture will go a long way to assist an attention-grabbing headline.  It will however not replace it.

Pictures are also essential to break up long blog posts, nobody wants to see a big stream of text, again a picture speaks a thousand words, but….  Don’t overload your post with them.

3.    INTRODUCTION

Your introduction should be short and punchy and is another opportunity for you to seduce your readers with the content to come.  Excite your readers and give them a reason to read further.

4.    LEAD IN

Introduce your readers to the content and don’t just dump a bullet list of points.

5.    CONTENT

If you’ve got your readers to the point of reading your content WELL DONE, let's keep their attention.  I cannot stress enough how important it is to deliver content of value, after all, anyone clicking through on your article wants to read or learn something of value.  Right for your audience and not search engines.  Remember content is king.

6.    CONCLUSION

It's good practice to summarise with a short paragraph reminding your readers of the important points to remember rather than bringing your post to an abrupt ending.  We all remember the films or books with the cliff-hanger ending, this only works if there is more content to come.

7.    INVITATION TO COMMENT AND SUBSCRIBE

This is where you can ask your readers to comment or like your post.  Also, a good opportunity to thank your audience for reading your post and to request a steem up of your post if they found it useful.  It’s also a good opportunity to engage and build a community around your work.

If you’ve followed the structure above you will be well on your way to creating a hot blog post on steemit.  You will note that there is no rocket science involved and it’s simply a matter of following a successful proven recipe.

Remember to keep your content relevant to your audience and the importance of drawing your audience in with a catchy title and picture.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post, I hope you find it useful.  If you do I would appreciate an upvote and if you would like to read future posts please follow me.

Have a momentous day and I wish you all the success with your future posts.
