Negotiating For Life

in #blog9 years ago (edited)

Recently I've been delving deeper and deeper into cooperation, liberation, and voluntary acts of trade. I think I have personally come to the conclusion that the only pure form of peace is one in which each act in someone's life is dictated only of off voluntary acts, such as commercial trade. I give you five dollars and you give me a hamburger. Both parties agree on the pros and cons of the trade and from both perspectives the benefits outweigh the negatives.

Going deeper than that I question the integrity of the current capitalistic society in N. America. Commercial trades are generally voluntary, but the acquisition of goods (jobs) cannot be voluntary if the final goal is just preservation of life. If you're going off the founding father's principles, the right to life is bestowed upon every human and thus should not be something to be negotiated around like a hamburger (luxury). One should not be forced to weigh the pros and cons of working a job they hate versus dying on the street.

If this is allowed to happen, ultimately the human spirit will take the job out of instinct, with almost no further questioning. Humans are resilient like this, but that is pushing into the nature fallacy. If something like this does happen, humans sacrificing their resources for life, should it happen? Or should humans only sacrifice resources on things that aren't necessity but luxury?
