Officially Starting out a "Not-So-New-Hobby"
Hello Steemians. As most of my followers here know, I love scribbling stuff and drawing. There are a lot of things that I enjoy doing that it's sometimes difficult to choose what to do at a certain time. This time, I'm adding up another one to my multiple hobbies officially. Chill! This isn't very serious. I just want to practice this craft more and more...
YES! CALLIGRAPHY~!!!!
I have been doing "lettering" since high school and I have been trying to keep my handwriting/penmanship as readable as possible. haha... Let me share to you a story of my childhood years.
My mama @arashikawaii has a really good handwriting! My friends who have seen it can really vouch for it. And because of this, she was also very strict in terms of my penmanship way back elementary years.
When I was in elementary, we are often told by our teachers to copy what's written on the blackboard. (Yeah, traditional style...) And so, we obligingly did. When I arrive home from school, my mama often check my notes to see if there are homework or stuff to study. (She was also very strict when it comes to my studies... but only until the third grade..) And guess what? Every time she saw erasures which made the notes dirty, she will tear that page up and let me rewrite. I remember myself crying because my hand was painful from all the writing and rewriting. However, I can only laugh at it.
My 5th grade English teacher often instructed us to write essays or stories on our journal. I can still remember what he told me back then,
"Mae (that's my second name), you should thank your mom for disciplining you. You have a really good handwriting which will become much better than hers in the future."
It made me realize that what my mama did for me... all the discipline and "being strict" were for my own good. Another thing that made me realize this was during my University years. In the University I went to at first, we had "printing exercise". Printing is writing something on a bond paper and you have to follow a certain penmanship.... almost similar to that of a computer "Arial font".
Most of the students find it difficult and were asked to rewrite again and again, but I'm happy to say that I didn't have to rewrite them. My works got approved and again, I saw my mama's discipline paying off.
Now, back to Calligraphy...
My watercolor brush are about to give up... hahaha, so I need to find some stuff or maybe make an alternative for now so I could continue practicing. Actually, I have used this "hobby" in some of my posts. Such as the following:
I made this last night and I used it for my Steemhomework post earlier.
This one is a title of one of my poems I shared here. Sometimes, I don't like to find pictures from the Internet, so instead, I write the title by myself.
This was used for another stemiteducation post. This is a title of a short story with comprehension questions which I made earlier this week.
I'm still a long way to go, but when I want to do something, I really try my best to achieve it. So, I'll continue doing my best at the things I enjoy doing the most.

Looks promising! What I didn't like is that you have multiple hobbies and it seems you are in doubt what's the best for you.

Sure :) Consider compiling a curious facts post about calligraphy for the #curiousfacts contest. Just sayng. I think people will love learning a bit more about calligraphy.
