How you see with your eyes: part 2 The Cornea
On this topic we will go over a segment of the eye called the Cornea.
The Cornea is the clear front surface of the eye, basically the window of your eye.
The function of the cornea is to keep out dust and germs, it also refracts light, two -thirds of the eye's refractive power comes from the cornea.
So without it's important role your vision would not be so sharp and clear.
Fun fact:
The cornea does not contain any blood vessels, it receives nourishment from tears and Aqueous humor that is produced inside the eye.
It can als heal its self from a scratch in a matter of 24-36 hrs, of course any thing deeper can receive a scar.
