This is the reason women are hard to work in the field of technology

One question remained in my mind while visiting a technology-based company in Medan, North Sumatra a few months ago, *"Why do we seldom see female engineers working in technology?" *

The question moved me to create a different perspective on the character of a woman in terms of technology work, so I would like to convey through the post about it with opinions with different points of view.

According to Google Engineer James Damore the reason is because biologically, women do not match the role. In addition, based on research from Stanford, women do not tend to be involved in technology work than male counterparts.

Stanford's research conclusions are drawn from the observations made by Stanford Graduate Sociology Student Alison Wynn and Professor Shelley Correll. They lead a team of researchers attending 84 recruitment sessions on campus for students in science, technology, engineering, and math fields. The researchers witnessed the gender disparity in the technology world.

According to the researchers' observations, the students who came to the recruitment session were greeted by a female recruiter who distributed tickets and directed the participants to the snack desk behind the room. While male recruiters are given the task of presentation. The role difference in this recruitment is like showing how technology companies want to highlight and boast male employees, while women are just as sweetener.

Researchers see several recruitment companies sending female engineers to recruitment sessions. In most cases, these female engineers do not participate in presentations or frequently asked questions. During the presentation, women talked about "light" topics like corporate culture, not the "heavy" technical topics discussed by men.

During the question and answer session, some questions were asked by male staff candidates. The question was also answered and responded by male engineers. In fact, the researchers described in a question and answer session in which a female engineer attempted to answer questions but was repeatedly interrupted, then the answer was taken over by her male companion.

Research has shown that working women continue to do most of the household chores and babysitting. Given that fact, it is not surprising that women prefer the balance of life and work. Women are reluctant to join companies that demand more work.
