How to Play Minecraft: A Beginner’s Guide

in #blog2 years ago

Minecraft is the most played game in the world, fittingly for its 10th anniversary. For those who are new to Minecraft, they may be curious how to play it.

Minecraft is not like any other video game. There are no clear objectives, or tutorials that will help you get started in Minecraft. This beginner's guide will help prepare you for your first adventure in Minecraft.

Minecraft's open-ended, infinite world is what makes it so much fun. You can do whatever you want. It'll help you to get the basics.

The Objective & Basic controls in Minecraft

This guide will focus on Minecraft on Windows, Mac and Linux. Once you have mastered the basics, these principles can be applied to any version of Minecraft on any platform.

Although there is no main objective to Minecraft, there are some gameplay patterns that can be used. Start in the vast open world and gather all materials necessary to make shelter, food, and a bed. Then, you must survive until the next day.

You can then start mining for precious resources such as iron ore and diamant to make powerful tools, weapons, armor, and other useful items. You'll find more opportunities to explore the open land, locate villages, loot hidden treasures and fight mobs.

Let's try it. You can move to a nearby tree block and then break it using the left mouse click. The tree block will break and drop a log. Take four pieces of the tree and break them up.

To open your inventory, press E. The bottom row of squares will show you four logs. This row is your quick slots tab. To equip one of these, you can press 1-9. You can equip more items from the rest of your inventory, but they cannot be quickly equipped. To change the location of items in your inventory, you can click and drag them.

Minecraft is a game that requires you to mine or craft everything. If you want to create tools, for instance, you will need to mine the resources necessary for their construction and then craft them. It begins at the most basic level, and then goes up from there.

To build a tool, for example, you need to start with a log. Next, build planks. Then craft sticks. Finally, use planks and sticks together to create a tool.

A crafting table is required for almost all craft. You can use your logs to create one. Click and drag your logs to the four squares next to your character's name in the inventory menu.

There will be four new items in your output box. These are planks. To convert your logs to planks, right click on this four times and drag them into your main inventory. Although it may seem strange at first, I promise you that it will get easier over time.

Next, click the left button to select the 16 planks that you have created. The right-click once you hover over each of four boxes next to your character. The output box will contain a new item. It is a crafting table.

Left click to place your planks in a blank area in your inventory. Next, left click to select the crafting tables. Move your mouse to the bottom of the toolbar and click left to drop it.

Next, press E to exit the inventory.

You can then look anywhere on the ground, and right click to put it down.

Next, take a look at the crafting table. Click on the right arrow. The new interface for crafting tables will be displayed. To access the extended crafting table menu, click the green book. To see the details of how items are made, you can click on them. You'll find more crafting techniques as you play. Or, you can look on the internet.

We will need some tools for now. Tools can be used to help you get more resources in Minecraft. The following tool types are available:

  • Pickaxes are used to extract rock and ore more quickly.
  • For cutting trees more quickly, use axes.
  • Shovels for digging dirt faster.
  • Hoes are used to prepare soil for planting seeds.
  • Swords for attacking enemy mobs.

Other tools are available for special situations, but we will only use these for now. Click on the stick at the crafting table to do this. To make 4 sticks, you will need 2 planks that are stacked on top each other in the crafting interface.

You will need 8 sticks. Use the right click for pick up your planks, and the left click to add a plank to each box. You can place your planks back into the inventory and then use the left click to retrieve the sticks from the output container.

You will now be able to unlock new ways to build basic tools. Click on the tools tab within the crafting table inventory. Next, click on each tool to craft them. These tools can be crafted using the same techniques we've already described.

Your inventory should look something like this after you are done. Press E to exit the crafting table. Your first tools are now built. It's now time to learn about the world around.

How to Survive Your First Night

Nighttime is when enemy mobs appear to try and attack you. You can die and be resurrected nearby. However, you need to go back to collect your items. You should not die in Minecraft as you could lose your items and/or lose your current location. To avoid this, we must build a shelter for the first night.

It's easy to use the hot key number to equip your shovel. It was 1. Next, take a look at the ground. Click right to start digging three blocks.

Next, take a look up and equip the dirt that you have just mined. It should be at the 4 key. Next, right-click to place a block. Now it will get dark. The important thing is that your safety is paramount.

Now wait until the morning. It should take approximately 7 minutes. You can either listen to the dangerous creatures outside or take a short break and return in 7 minutes. If you do not keep your Gaming open, the timer will stop.

You can see up in 7 minutes and hold right click to dig the dirt, revealing the morning light. If it is still dark, you can place the dirt again and wait a while. You can now dig the blocks to create a step that you can jump on to get out of the hole you have been hiding in.

Now that you have built your first home, it is time to make a shelter. You only need walls, a roof and a door. You can sleep in a bed so that you don't have to wait until the morning. You will skip the night automatically.

You can build walls and ceilings from any material. It could be made from planks or dirt. These resources can be found in the ground or from trees using the tools you have already made. It will take a lot of blocks to make this happen.

Sometimes Minecraft can seem tedious. You will need to collect lots blocks by digging, cutting, and mining.

Start to put the blocks down and build your first home by equipping your tool bar with the blocks. You can also build a door in the crafting table using planks. To craft the door, simply open the crafting menu and use the user interface to select it.

The final piece is the bed, and it can be more difficult. Look around for sheep in the area. Attack sheep if you find them. After they are killed they will shed wool and mutton. This is your first venture to look for sheep.

It should not take more than a few minutes to locate them. Just make sure you know how to get back home. To make a bed on the crafting table, you will need three blocks of the same wool and three planks.

Now you will have your first home. To save time, you can now sleep in your bed at night to avoid the morning. You can also respawn in this bed if you die.

Two more items are required before we can explore Minecraft further. To store our items and to make food, we need to create a furnace.

The design of chests is simple. To place a chest, follow the instructions in the illustration. The chest can be placed by clicking on it and then dragging items into its inventory.

Cobblestone is needed to build the furnace. You can mine this with the pickaxe under the ground. Use the shovel to begin digging through the dirt. You will hit stone quite quickly. You can dig down using stairs, as shown above, until you reach stone.

The pickaxe can then be used to gather stone. To build a furnace, you will need eight cobblestones. The furnace crafting layout can be viewed above. You can now place the furnace in your home. Now it's time for you to pay attention to your quick slots. These are your food and health bars.

Slowly, your food will start to go down. If it gets too low, you can lose your health. You will slowly recover your health if you eat enough. You must eat food to fill it up. Mutton should be already prepared from the earlier killed sheep, but it must be cooked.

Right click on the furnace to cook your food. Place the meat in the top and bottom boxes. Next, add fuel. You can use any kind of wood or coal.

If you don't have wood, you can easily gather logs from trees. The food will eventually be prepared and you'll see it in your output box. You can eat food by placing it into your quick bar slot and equipping it. Then, hold the right click.

Exploring the World

You should now have the essential gear you need to survive. You'll have a place to sleep, a place to cook and storage space. It's now time to begin collecting better gear.

The crafting table can be used to make better tools that last longer and are easier to mine blocks. Cobblestone is the best option to upgrade your tools. You will also find iron and diamonds if you dig deeper. Iron is the next upgrade to stone. Diamonds are even better. Stone will suffice for now.

To find iron or diamond, you will need to dig deep. This can take a while. You can explore the world and learn how Minecraft works. As you play, you'll discover more. Minecraft is all about exploring and learning.

Nice tutorial :) i play Minecraft now for quite a few years and i still love it since you can do whatever you want: try yourself in the survival mode, or create whatever you can imagine in creative mode. You can build some maps with gameplay for you and your friends or if you are brave enough, try some redstone mechanics.
I first discovered it a few years ago through some friends and played a cracked version. After years playing a cracked version i decided to buy it finally. In the beginning i was struggling to create sticks but it's very simple: put two planks vertical and you got sticks :D
