Bleeding Walls: Fact or Fiction?

As if hearing odd and unexplainable noises from under the floorboards and having your home décor thrown around by a ghost wasn’t bad enough, there are some cases of the walls of some of these real-life haunted houses reportedly dripping with human blood.
Yes—human blood.
The first vision that may come to your mind is the scene in the 1970s film, Amityville Horror, but it actually gets more gruesome than that.

The Phenomenon

One of the first cases of reported blood dripping down the interior walls of a person’s house takes place in San Pedro. This particular house has been being investigated by paranormal researchers steadily for over twenty years now.
The house seemingly had no issues before a woman named Jackie Hernandez and her children moved in. But within days of moving in, she began having visions, rotten smells were coming out of nowhere, and objects were being thrown across the house. Eventually—she sought help from professionals.
The force within her house was not discriminate. It pushed the paranormal investigators down, and even hung one of them with a single rope and a heavy nail in the attic—which was the place that seemed to have the biggest amount of activity.
Scratching from beneath the floor, more unexplained noises, and attacks continued to progress, and the paranormal investigative team called in the help of a parapsychologist to assist. Of course, out of all of this, perhaps the single most disturbing feat of this case was the strange orange and brown ooze coming out of the walls and cupboards.
This ooze was actually captured on photograph as well as video in 1988 when this was going on. Samples of the ooze had then been taken to a forensic laboratory and tested positive to be human blood plasma.
Skeptics ended up having their mouths clamped shut (figuratively, of course) on the matter as it was a known fact that attaining blood plasma was a process that required in-lab equipment to retrieve. It was also noted that plasma that had been oozing out of the cupboards and walls from literally nowhere held very high levels of copper as well as iodine which represents oxidization, or, more simply, decomposition. Seems like something a spirit would do, right? This finding alone helped to drive home the credibility of this fascinating yet nightmarish case.
In addition to the San Pedro haunting case, it’s no surpise that there are also many other cases around the world that have presented reports of blood dripping from the walls. Another notable case was the Winston House in 1987. The residents were an elderly married couple. They reported finding random pools of blood that were coming out of the walls. When tests were conducted, it was found that the blood type of that on the walls was type O, and the residents had type A. However, it was later determined that the previous owner had type O blood.

The Truth

Fortunately—or unfortunately, depending on which side of the paranormal fence you’re on –there has been no evidence to debunk either of these stories. The blood had been tested numerous times only to find that it was, in fact, real human blood or plasma. There is video evidence of the physical attacks from the wicked force within the San Pedro house, and the Winston house’s story was even published in The New York Times as one of the largest mysteries to date. While some occurrences of blood being found leaking from the walls from no known source have been debunked entirely, these, along with many others have proven to be entirely credible accounts.

At the end of the day, whether you believe in ghosts or hauntings or not, proof is proof. Over the years, skeptics have tried to formulate their own possible explanations, but none of them can even remotely hold up to the cold,—and in this case---sticky evidence. If you’re still not convinced, the actual footage and photos from the investigations of both of these cases exist online and are incredibly easy to find. Feel free to check them out for yourself and make your own decisions on the matters.
