Dinner at Beef Club in Paris - One for the meat lovers :)
Paris is one of my favorite cities. Probably a favorite of many of us, and if we have not yet been there then we dream of going there. There’s just something so romantic and cultural about this city, you can get lost in exploring the different arrondissements and go from boulangerie to boulangerie having baguettes, macarons and eclairs… and then perhaps pop into The Beef Club for some meat.
So when I finally returned after a year of not having been in Paris, I was so excited to try out new places. This time, we went for something more meaty, and how much more meaty can you get than at The Beef Club?
Having left right after work, we arrived rather late but the place was buzzing with people from all around the world! You could hear different languages murmuring around the room, you could eavesdrop on their stories of their day and you could definitely admire their stylish outfits and wish you had the guts to pull that off.
We snooped at the menu and decided to go all out – after all, we were in Pareeeeh!
We started out with liquids and went for some fancy cocktails.
Unfortunately I don’t remember the exact ingredients of this, but the short glass cocktail had passion fruit and it was good. Oh, and the passion fruit on top came flaming, which is always a big plus! Simply put, the cocktails were delicious! The tall cocktail glass was a more berry-based concoction, but super delicious as well.
For starters, we ordered a scotch egg and some bone marrow. Now, when you think starters, you think small little platters that leave you hungry wanting more, but not with these mothers of all starters!
The scotch egg, a hard-boiled egg enclosed in sausage meat, rolled in breadcrumbs, and deep fried, baby!
The mothership of bone marrows:
Which was the most delicious thing imaginable. It was the perfect gewey, buttery texture to use for dipping bread in.
Can I just sneakily add in how perfect I paired my meal with my bling? Some bone marrow for the girl with the Love You to the Bone rings and necklace, perhaps? Don’t mind if I do! You can have a sneak peek at the rest of the Love You to the Bone pieces here. I have already told you how I have been wearing them non-stop!
Then, came the mains.
I went for a simple entrecôte steak, my plus one for a medallion, and we decided to share sides of forest mushroom and their glorious mac’n’cheese and dipping sauces of bearnaise and wine and bone marrow.
We munched away happily and soon enough found ourselves with empty plates and a strong longing for something sweet to share. We took a peek at the dessert menu and decided something to share would be less guilty and went for the chocolate profiterole. But just as The Beef Club does not just do bone marrow, but the mother of all bone marrows, they do not do a simple profiterole.
Oh no. They do the queen of all profiteroles.
See for youself!
They come and bring you the simple profiterole (which is the size of your first!) to your table and then pour warm, decadent, deliciously creamy thick chocolate sauce all over it, slowly, almost pornographically.
Time slows as you watch it drizzle and dribble and ooze over the perfect crust and over the sides of the profiterole and you cant help but sigh with the angels voices in the background.
And soon enough you realize what your doing and glance down at the plate, only to be left with this.
That is one happy camper, right there! Look at the joy! The glory!
If you are in Paris, please make sure to stop by The Beef Club for dinner, drinks and dessert. Or only drinks and dessert! Or only dessert! Whatever floats your boat.
Make sure you reserve ahead in advance because it does get quite busy and crowded quickly. If you’re only in the mood for a drink you can always check out their speak-easy bar Le Ballroom du Beefclub, which is just through another door from The Beef Club. Or if you’re feeling fishy rather than meaty, then go ahead and plop yourself down at The Fish Club, where they offer a more pescetarian menu.
Either way, I promise that if you check any of them out, you will not leave dissapointed! You may have to unbutton a your jeans, but that’s a sign of a good wine and dine session, wouldn’t you agree?
