There's more to you than you know

You see I had this friend I treasured a lot. I felt lucky and privileged to have her as my friend. For me she was just too good. How can one person be this intelligent, have so much wisdom, and be this scholarly.
I did everything to keep the friendship just so I could earn the title of being her friend (believe me it was a trophy for me).
It wasn't long before madam started to make it clear how stupid I was. Nothing I said ever made sense again, she would make jokes out of every action I made or every of thoughts I aired.
Haba!!!
I would start wondering, am I that dull? It did not take time before I began to accept the concept that I
was stupid.
I began to think, maybe I am dull after all, maybe she isn't wrong in the first place....
Well I don't think that is the case now. When I look at the
things I do now and the things I say, I am wowed. I mean goodness, you aren't dull after all, you weren't stupid at all.
So what was the problem?
Some people just know how to infect you with negative
energy. They always want to make you feel less of yourself so they can play the gods. Naaaahhh!!! You don't need such people.
You need to surround yourself with those who believe in you, those who will constantly remind you of your potentials that need to be harnessed, those who make you feel good about
yourself and not those who never see anything good in you.
Invest your time in becoming a better you, in being the best version of yourself, in developing yourself personally. The gap between where you are now and where you want to
be requires time and effort.
