SJWs have a meltdown over a freaking banana peel

The article starts out strong with the following line:
A Greek Life retreat at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) was promptly cancelled this weekend after a banana peel was found hanging in a tree.
Need I say more? Ok then, I'll continue.
“To be clear, many members of our community were hurt, frightened, and upset by what occurred at IMPACT,” Interim Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life Alexa Lee Arndt remarked in an email between Greek leaders, according to The Daily Mississippian. “Because of the underlying reality many students of color endure on a daily basis, the conversation manifested into a larger conversation about race relations today at the University of Mississippi.”
Apparently littering is racist then? What? What sort of crybaby gets "hurt, frightened and upset" over some organic litter in the woods?
“The overall tone was heavy. I mean, we were talking about race in Mississippi and in the Greek community so there’s a lot involved,” McNeil recalled, later adding that she and her friend were “all just sort of paranoid for a second” after spotting the banana.
Oh, you were paranoid, you say? You think?!
After word of the banana spread throughout the retreat, leaders decided to end the event early. Arndt explained that she “felt it was imperative to provide space immediately to students affected by this incident.”
According to The DM, some students left the retreat in tears, with McNeil noting that they “didn’t feel welcome” and “didn’t feel safe.”
Oh no, a ruthless banana peel invade their safe space and now the babies feel unsafe. What are we going to do? Some say this momentous event gave them PTSD!
Swanson apologized for the incident, writing in a statement that he wants to “sincerely apologize for the events that took place this past weekend.”
“Although unintentional, there is no excuse for the pain that was caused to members of our community,” he continued. “I have much to learn and look forward to doing such and encourage all members of our community to do the same.”
What a fucking cuck. Then again, I don't blame the poor sob too much though, seeing how they ganged on him. The only thing that he should apologise is for littering. Big fucking deal, he was lazy and threw the shit away. Oh, the horror!
While it is unclear how the university will proceed to handle the incident, Vice Chancellor for Diversity and Community Engagement Katrina Caldwell noted that she will be speaking with fellow leaders to decide “what makes the most sense.”
“Right now, we’re just talking to people on campus who have some experience working across diversity to help the students process what happened,” she added.
What makes most sense? How about asking yourselves "what the fuck does this have to do with racism?", and just give the guy a 20$ fine for littering and move on with your lives? Oh, wait, we can't have that, that'd support "white supremacy" or some stupid shit like that.
Jesus Christ, what has the world come to? And these people wonder why they get memed to high heaven, and then cry "harassment". Why does anyone listen to them, is beyond me, they're clearly mentally challenged.

Perhaps I should have said from an activists perspective it's crazy. Too extreme. One can't look at one tiny thing as a triggering event. Litter happens.
I know! That's why I felt I had to share this. It's just ridiculous! I'm a liberal myself, but I will forever be disappointed in how evangelical the left has become these days. Is so weirdly sad, and if this were an isolated incident, I'd be laughing my ass off.
I have friends who are marching from Charlottesville to DC right now and have faced some pretty scary people along the way. We have real worries that are much bigger than a banana peel. smh
The whole identity politics is what caused this. Calling all white people racists and nazis all day is bound to actually piss people off. I though #notall was the de facto argument, not except in this case it seems.
Both Antifa and the retarded white nationalist are a scourge, yet all I hear is "nazis, nazis everywhere!", which is just stupid. As I've said somewhere before, those people are so few and insignificant, nobody cares about them, yet the extreme left constantly destroys property and beats people up, and only just now you hear something from the media. The everyday liberals, that I know are not as radical, need to stop covering for them, and condemn all political violence and censorship :)

I don't think you have a good grasp on how scary white people are in the woods to Black people... ESPECIALLY in Mississippi of all places. Considering that "monkey" and related images are used as race based insults by white people towards us, we often get apprehensive when faced with such as noted in the articles below.
