Moving on up in the world "advice from steemit peers"

Hello everyone my name is Steve. I started posting blogs yesterday and told my story and expressed the fact that it was my first time ever being part of a social blogging network such as this one. I am rather new to all this and would love all the advice in the world to help me get going and exploring this new world.
I guess what I really want to get from this experience is being able to open up to people better and express myself to the world. My question is what can I post or talk about that catches peoples attention? Should I just blog bout myself? Or should I blog about what happens around me?
I want to be able to grow and have a lot of people follow me and be interested in what I have to say. For all you first time steemit peers how did you guys grow so quick? and for the more advanced how did you get so many followers and people interested in what you were posting? because I see some posts with a lot of $ on it. I know im new to this site and they say in time I will have more followers and people reposting my blogs, but I want to know how does someone new move up to the top quickly?
Any and all advice is welcome.
This is a quick post from me to you guys for today. Like I said yesterday from now on I will be posting a blog everyday keeping up with how fast I can move on up in this site and in life.
Here are a few pictures of what I've been building in my spare time. I build a little farm in my backyard and I am continuing to add to it. So far I have chickens and just a bunny. I build a gazebo in my backyard and there's a fire pit also. I even have a few vegetable growing back there and pretty soon ill plant some strawberries. I have two different chicken coops for my chickens and they actually lay eggs in them! I used to have some hens that didn't ever lay eggs. I'm thinking of adding a goat but it will be hard and they are not allowed in the city so we will see.... Let me know what you guys think. and what else you think I should add, if I like what you think of I'll build it in my backyard.
