waste of water - around 300 liters a day/person in Switzerland in the year 2016

Allarmingly how we take having water as a matter of course every day!
Starting in the morning with a refreshing shower, drinking a coffee, brush one's teet, do the dishes or cloth wash. You just have to turn up the water tap and let the water flow, by the way, water of best quality and purity here in Switzerland.

Realising water it's getting continously rare
The last legendary heathwave we hade in Switzerland was in 2003, so i cant only slightly remember. But this year we all felt again a serious heatwave (by the way bearing heath it's definetly getting worse for me growing older) . Since April untill August we had above the ordinary high temperaturess. From April untill July we had lowest precipitation amount since 100 years.

Impacts strongly noted
Due to the dryness the impacts were seen allover. Gras turned brown, tide gauge of our beautiful lakes and rivers went down dramatically and in the corn fields the plants did not bear fruit. Due to rise of temperature the fishes in the rivers were dying. Farmers had to kill their animals, as there was no water for them and in several regions people had to save on water. We had more burnings and it was prohibited to have a barbecue outside (which we are not used!)

How to save water as individual
I seriously started to activate or reactivate my water saving measures. Instead of letting the water flow during my dailies activities (see above) i reduced or stopped them. The stagnant water from my coffe machine i used for my plants. My washing machine was only started, if the washer drum was full and i told my son, that he should not change his clothes every day, such as pants and shirts (taking a shower every day and using deodorant prevents bad smells). For cleaning up i used the same water longer and i reduced a little the frequency (accepting a window might be a little longer uncleandes or the might be lying some dust for a few more days). And it was still clean enought !!

** BUT UNFORTUNATLY SUCH MEASURES ARE HARDLY FOLLOWED, ONCE THE SITUATION GET'S BACK TO NORMAL**

At least some of them are kept and i'm catching myself from time to time not doing the other measures anymore.
