Wikipedia Bans Right Wing Breitbar, InfoWars as News Source
Wikipedia editors have voted to ban right wing news website Breitbart as a source of facts in Wiki articles. The decision also included InfoWars, which the organisation labelled a “conspiracy theorist and fake news website,” and moderators have been asked to prohibit the use of InfoWars for reference links.
Breitbart has attracted controversy over a number of issues such as supporting politician and alleged pedophile Roy Moore, running puff pieces for scam cryptocurrencies and racist stories about black athletes. Wikipedia said it found much of Breitbart’s coverage to be “misleading, false or both,” with over 2,500 links to the site in its articles.
