Differences & Similarities: Facebook Vs. Steemit.
Facebook is a social networking website and service where users can post comments, share photographs and links to news or other interesting content on the Web, play games, chat live, and even stream live video. Shared content can be made publicly accessible, or it can be shared only among a select group of friends or family, or with a single person.
Steemit is a social networking website and service that functions a lot like Reddit & facebook where users can post comment, share photographs and links to news or other interesting content on the web, chat live and even stream video. But on steemit there is a HUGE difference: Steemit pays both the content creators when their work gets upvoted (likes), as well as the people who curate the best content on the site by upvoting others work.
Similarities
i. Both are social media site
ii. Both are free to register
iii. Users can post, like, share and comment
iv. Both can upload photos and videos

Difference
Hope I have been able to convince you that steemit is the real deal..
