Thinking About Steemit

I've been thinking about how big Steem could get over the next year. When we think about the social media sites Steem is competing with, we are usually thinking about specific websites. We think Reddit, Facebook, YouTube, etc. The thing is, Steem can be all of those things. The blockchain really allows any of a number of websites to be built around Steem. There is no blockchain that has as many transactions, so I think scalability to an empire that large is totally achievable.

YouTube and Reddit alone are some of the biggest websites in society right now. If Steemit and Dtube, which imitate those sites most closely, became large competitors, we could be talking about an enormous user base. I'm looking forward to this year, and I think we'll see Steem become part of the mainstream conversation of internet usage.
