3 Interesting Facts about Mummification
Fun Fact 1 - Cat Mummies
Cats were considered sacred in ancient Egyptian society. They were mummified as part of religious rituals in massive quantities. This cult was so massive that at Beni Hasan, there were so many mummies found at the end of the 19th century, a total of 19 tons of mummified Egyptian cats were shipped to England to be used as fertilizer

Fun Fact 3 - A Special Place in my Heart?
Ancient Egyptians removed all internal organs except the heart during the process of mummification. The reason is that they believed that a person was judged by their heart. The heart was often protected by a powerful amulet called the heart scarab.
