Today i had a training with the Red Cross in Lebanon it was about “First aid and how to save a life”.

At the beginning we learned about the basics of giving the hand of help to the injured or whoever is in need.
Here we can classify 4 basic points we should keep in our minds i will talk about them in a while:

1- The protection
2- The scanning
3- Reporting
4- Giving the necessary aid

• The protection:
  First of all and the most important is to protect ourself and then protect the crowd and the injured person, so in case of a certain accident i should take all safety precautions for myself at first (it’s not selfishness) but most probably i am the only one in this situation who has the knowledge of dealing with this accident.

• The scanning:
  I have to introduce my self as a red cross certified person who knows how to deal with such situation, then i have to examine the injured person to know how to deal with him.

• Reporting:
  After examining the injured person it’s very important to call the concerned parties (the civil defense, red cross, etc.)

• Giving the necessary aid:
  Start the necessary procedures, he might be choking (partially or totally), or suffering from heart attack and other cases (so we practiced on the essential moves) like it’s shown in the pictures.

tomorrow i have a simulation i must apply what i learned today to get the certificate but more important is that we should all try to learn such things because we might save a life.
