A Better Return than ICOs!

I love estate sales and garage sales, where I've found everything from WWII era bayonets to rare German bookshelf speakers. Many of these items are BIFL purchases, made even better by the extreme savings found at the point of purchase.
So Saturday I went out and walked around our neighborhood, which had its annual garage sale. This weekend, I added two major items to my kitchen: an 80's era General Electric Food Processor ($3), and this charcoal kettle grill (free!):
I've been using a gas grill for years, and waiting for exactly this sort of opportunity to come along. I threw a cedar plank my Dad gave me on the coals to add some smoke to this meal, and it did not disappoint! The whole family ate juicy, smoky chicken, brats, veggies and potatoes (they're hiding in that foil on the right).
Summer is here...EOS and other tokens might be overpriced right now, but garage sales are certainly not...and your savings are tax free! The food processor and grill would have been about $200 retail.
What have you picked up in your adventures? Do non Americans do garage sales? I'd love to hear your experiences in the comments below.

Unfortunately, I'm not that well versed in ICOs, nor am I all that into garage sales. I've seen an estate sale auction once or twice, but didn't buy anything. My wife, however, loves garage sales. Doesn't matter where we're at, or what we're doing. She sees a garage sale, she wants to stop at it. She's bought all kinds of things over the years, but I couldn't tell you what exactly, because she also ends up at thrift stores and comes home with things people just give her, too. It all kind of blends together after a while. :)
My best find was a 14kt. white gold mounting with no stone for $1.00, then I kept looking and found a .50 point white diamond in a box for another $1.00. I wasn't sure it was a diamond until I went home, I was just looking for a stone to put in the ring. That happened years ago, and never has it happened again.
My favourite pick up was an old version Fyodor Dostoyevsky novel. Kaitaia - New Zealand :)
The Brothers Karamazov
Nice grab, I'd love a physical copy of that book, which I read last year on my Kindle.
Still ICO is number 1 ROI in my eyes
Garage sales have always been a huge bust for me. A couple years ago at an outdoor flea market I scored a whole set of Fiestaware--service for 8 people plus extra items like 3 platters, soup bowls, and a serving bowl--in a retired/vintage color, for $180. That doesn't sound cheap unless you look up the prices for new ones! It's my favorite dinnerware set now :)
