Foodie bought a house!
Well, our bid has been accepted!
We're still a little ways from actually buying the house, but the intention is there and if we can get everything sorted with finances, we'll soon have our own house.
A little while after I wrote about placing a bid, the real estate agent contacted me and told me the seller had accepted our bid. She's leaving behind some furniture either way, but she's throwing in the garden set, so that's a nice bonus for us. She's also leaving behind the upstairs bed, which saves all of us a lot of hassle, because getting it down would have been a nightmare for her and getting anything up there would have been quite annoying for us. There's not much room to work with at the top of those stairs.
The actual, definite sale will happen at the end of june, so we'll have two months to get everything sorted. I'm happy we have this time, because I won't have the money from my house until the end of may anyway. We'll have plenty of time to get our mortgage in order and I'm sure I'll have the money we'll put in ourselves.
I'm so excited to know we're going to live there on the park! It has plenty of vacation homes besides ours, some of which are also allowed to be used for permanent residence. So there's people around, which I both like and don't like. I don't like noise from people, but I do like the idea that people are close to help us out if anything bad happens. I'll live with the noise, knowing it will mostly be during summer.
The house is at the edge of the park, so the noise should be minimal. It is also surrounded by trees. Lots of trees. I'll feel like I'm living in the forest. How awesome is that!
There's also a swimming pool there. Heated, but outdoors, so it'll only be open in the summer. I'm curious to see how busy it will be. I'd love to swim there in the morning for some good exercise and hope I'll have the space for that if I go early enough.
Anyway, before we're there, we have some things to arrange, most importantly we have to get finances in order, so we have to go to the bank and ask for a mortgage. I hope they'll give it to us. The most challenging thing is getting enough, because the house is officially a recreational house, instead of a proper home. We'll have to see what the bank makes of it, but bringing in some of our own money aswell should help a lot.
I'm so happy! Excited! And also a little bit scared, because it's a big step! I know I've got the knowhow to get everything sorted, so we'll be alright.
Have a good day!

Congratulations! That’s very exciting news! Holding thumbs for you and I hope it all goes through smoothly!
Owning your own property is a privilege not many will have the opportunity to enjoy! I’ve been looking to buy a property for over a year now and it just seems ridiculous when I look at the amount of debt I need to take out in order to get one! Also finding a place within your budget that you can look at and say I can see myself living here is also something I struggle with, maybe I’m impatient maybe I’m too picky I just hope eventually I’ll fins something I too can call home!
Thank you so much @chekohler! Here, you have to take out some debt to buy a house. It is the only acceptable debt there is to me, because otherwise hardly anyone could ever buy a house here. Finding one within your budget is indeed quite hard and I feel really lucky to have found this house. Most are in very busy, populated areas with little nature around, so I'm glad I found one with so much nature all around us :-)
I hope you'll find your own home some day!
Congrats!! So i understand its not the one you posted about 2 posts ago??
Anyway- Thats really exciting news for you guys! Horrrray!!!⚘💃🤗
Hmm I talked about two houses in the past couple of weeks! The first one needed a lot of work and this one is move in ready :D
Thank you so much!
That is really awesome! I want to buy an apartment, because I don't like rent, but in Czech rep. everything is so expensive...and I have to save 20% from the value of the property. Which is a lot of money
Yeah, you have to save up more here aswell now I think. I'm lucky I already had a house and I'm selling it with plenty leftover after paying off the mortage on that one, so I'm able to bring that money over to this new house :-)
Heated pools are always a good thing! c: So wait, the place you guys bought is normally intended as a vacation home/ timeshare type of property? Must be super pretty!
I wouldn't want to be around so many people either, but it does make you feel a lot safer! <3
Yes, exactly! A couple of the houses on this park are for permanent residence, which this is one of. I'm super happy we managed to find it, because it is really pretty!
The fact that it's on the edge of the park makes it acceptable for me to be there. Even though it's a park with plenty of vacation homes, we atleast won't be right in the middle of all of it :-)
I'm really happy for you! :3 I wouldn't want to be in the middle of any park no matter what type of neighborhood it is, I like being safe when I walk and parks at night sometimes sketch me out.
It really sounds like a dream come true. Plus a lot of the time you'll have peace and quiet! <3
Well, it's not a park in that sense, it's a vacation park, so yes there's plenty of nature all around, but mainly it's vacation homes and recreational areas :D
Sorry for my stupidly late reply xD It still sounds amazing though. I wanna be surrounded by nature, not a metropolitan sea of towers!
Also, I'm in finals week (year round school) so I'll be coming by to check out some of your posts soon :3
How exciting @playfulfoodie. That was really fast!
It sounds lovely and I can't wait to see some photographs. 😁
Congratulations! It is a big step when buying a house but will be worth it in the end. I know you are looking forward to the day you can sit back and relax after all the moving.
💖
Thank you so much!
Oh yes definitely, I can't wait :D
Congrats. Buying a house (and having sold one) is always quite taxing on nerves for some reason. Having passed the bidding part is half the battle. Here's hoping securing the financing goes without hickups. Cheers.
Thank you! Yeah it certainly is quite stressful with all of the uncertainties. I'm happy they accepted our offer, so now we only have stress about finances and the actual move! It'll all have been worth it once we're sitting in our new home :-)
Congratulations! Now the real nerve racking activity starts. Lol. Seriously, home ownership is awesome and something more and more people seemingly will miss out on in life.
Thank you! Yeah, the stress is far from over, but it'll all be worth it in the end!
Home ownership is awesome indeed. I never did feel much for renting a place. It's just a poorer choice financially speaking. But you do need enough of your own cash to bring in and/or a stable job to pay for the mortage. Luckily we have both right now. I bring in the own cash, my boyfriend has the stable job :D
That is teamwork right there.
I have rented in the past and hated it. You are literally throwing money away because you will never own that dwelling. Sometimes it is even cheaper to buy than it is to rent which is just wild to me because so many still prefer to rent.
Oh yes, exactly! I rented for a little while aswell, but it did indeed feel like throwing money away. My mortgage for the first house I bought was basically around the same price, but that eventually led to a nice amount I can now put in our new house! With interest very low right now, combined with that extra money I can put in, our new mortgage will be much lower than any kind of rental place.
Sure, rental means less to worry about, but financially, I'd much rather own.
hopefully you are comfortable and peaceful in a new home with your family. everyone has high ideals in buying a house. but the economics that create barriers. why do you put my name JOY at the tag. ha..ha..
Miss.... how to play the game on Dlive ?
Thank you so much :-)
A massive step for setting your roots down (atleast temporarily!). Very happy for you @playfulfoodie! The team are big fans of your writing :)
Definitely, I'm so happy we found this place :D
Thank you so much for your kind words!
