Bebés modificados genéticamente
El investigador He Jiankui de nacionalidad china de la universidad de Shenzhen, dio a conocer que participo en la creación de los primeros bebés modificados genéticamente.
Este proceso ha causado gran polémica en varias partes de mundo, ya que las modificaciones de ADN tienen el riesgo de dañar los genes de las generaciones futuras. Se modificaron embriones de 7 parejas durante el tratamiento, un solo embarazo fue el que prospero.
Aparentemente los bebés modificados genéticamente son unas gemelas y son inmunes al VIH.
