Gunfire

At first I thought this gif was of a man pretending to shoot at enemies and then lie about the number of men he had shot and killed as he marked his board with more tallies. As his hat is knocked off, I initially thought it was someone throwing something from behind him, maybe a fellow soldier, or sergeant who saw that he was being deceitful and making a fool of himself in their eyes, and they threw something to knock his hat off to make him start over and be honest, which is why he wipes his board of the tallies. But on second and third glance, I see that he is actually killing people and he thinks he has killed another enemy, until the enemy shoots his hat off, and then the man has to correct his tally mark because he almost lost his life due to such a bad assumption mistake. I would never be in this position, and I truly don't know how people can even survive a war mentally, let alone physically. It is a tough life to say the very least.
