Mothman Sightings

There have been many Mothman sightings over the years. The sightings are typically followed by disaster!

November 12, 1966, in West Virginia there were 5 grave diggers that claimed to see a human-like figure flying above the trees. I do believe that I would have flipped out if I were digging a grave, looked up and saw a flying person. Then a few days later on November 15, 1966, the being was spotted again. This time it would horrify 2 couples meeting nearby a river in Point Pleasent as they see the creature standing in the road, lit up with the headlights of the car. This would be a heart attack by a feathery figure for sure! One witness Mr. Mallett said "It was like a man with wings" as he gave his report to the Point Pleasant Register.

The Mothman sighting would continue in Point Pleasent for approximately a year. On December 15, 1967, the tragedy of the Silver Bridge collapse would bring the sightings of Mothman to a holt. There were differing opinions on what and if Mothman had to do with the collapse of the bridge that claimed so many lives! Some people thought Mothman was sent to warn the people of the tragedy that would take place. I'm sure Mothman had nothing to do with the bridge but aren't you curious why the sighting stopped? I have always been fascinated by the story of Mothman and how he tends to show up before a major catastrophe. If there's ever a looming threat in your city hope for a warning sign as clear as the man himself Mr. Moth.
