The Timeline
We must live in the right moment, when is that moment, it is neither the past nor the future because the past cannot be changed and the future is uncertain, true and real is the moment, the precise moment you are living in.
All would like to say as David said to God "Lord, let me know my end and what is the number of days, so that I may know what is left of my life", it is true that only that supreme being is the one who knows the end of our lives, let us only imagine that our days have been marked with a short term; then our subsistence would be like nothing before our eyes. To believe that we are going to have long life is truly the supreme vanity of every living man. Man wanders through time like a procrastinating shadow, he worries and agitates in vain because perhaps tomorrow he will not be there. He treasures and does not know for whom he collects all this because unfortunately he cannot take it with him.
The timeline of our life is that horizontal line that divides the past and the future, that minimal line between two immense spaces; it is today.
How many people live thinking about time; the elapsed one who would like to change it or the one who is about to change it or the one who wants to control it, so our whole life goes by, immersed in two worlds that we cannot control, because we cannot modify the past nor can we guess the future, so we lose the opportunity to live that line of time, that moment, the moment, the today, which marks our existence.
There you are lost in your life looking back as if someone was chasing you and looking at the horizon because you want to find great things in your life and you forget about yourself, the moment you are living like now that you can be reading this post, something you can control by continuing to do it or leaving it aside, that's all you have, the now, what you own, don't expect the timeline to fade, don't be vain and don't think you're going to live many years, just think that tomorrow morning you'll dawn dead, that you'd do right now, to whom you'd dedicate it.
You know why David asks God how many days he has left, why he wants to make the most of them, as you and I would. Take advantage of every second, minute, hour of your days, live intensely with passion, love everything around you; the wind, the air you breathe, the light, the feeling of living, the trees, the colors of each flower, the aroma that makes you sigh, enjoy even the tiny atom that is part of any matter. Laughing at every moment provoking your own happiness. Embracing your loved ones with strength and your friends would make them spend a pleasant moment; there are only a few days left to share, you would live with the intention of leaving a mark on this life, you would do good so that many would remember you and God would receive you as a good son. So you must live life as if you knew the end of your days.
