Politically speaking, The exclusive preservation of nuclear power made the United States a Mega Superpower.
According to Norman Palmer, the United States enjoyed a monopoly of nuclear power until 1949.

THE AMERICAN NUCLEAR WEAPON

These monopoly of nuclear power was broken on September 23 1949, when the USSR (Russia) also acquired theirs and also became a superpower.

THE RUSSIAN NUCLEAR WEAPON

The need to acquire and consolidate power made Britain to commence their nuclear project, on October 3, 1952 .Britain became the third country to acquire nuclear capacity.

THE BRITISH NUCLEAR WEAPON

France quickly joined the race and by February 13, 1960 has joined the club of nuclear Powerful countries.

Amongst the big five (5) China attained hers on October 16, 1964. From (1945-1964) the big five have become very powerful through the acquisition and possession of nuclear bomb 💣.

American were initially opposed to nuclear proliferation and advancement. However the breaking of the monopoly of American possession of atomic bomb 💣 by the Soviet Union propelled the United States of America to begin another project for the Mega nuclear bomb called the Hydrogen Bomb and basically to increase their stockpile of nuclear weapons.
