Know what is TRP? How it is measured?

If you watch TV, then you must have heard about TV so many times. Generally, very few people know about TRP. If you also dont know then today i am going to tell you, what is TRP. Let me tell you that full form of TRP is television rating points which shows which program is watched much. Almost in every big city, a special device is installed at selected places. This device is called as "People Meter". This is not installed in every house. For this, special area is selected and this device is specially installed in cities only.

How TRP is identified?
When people meter is installed at some place, then device connects with set top boxes of that area. In order to find right TRP, rather than cable TV, emphasis is given on installing set top boxes. With this, right TRP can be calculated. People meter sends the information collected from set top boxes to the monitoring team which is monitoring above. This information contains, which channel is being watched too much. And in that channel, which show is being watched much. All this is identified according to the rating. This is called as TRP.

After analysing the information sent via people meter, monitoring team decides which channel and show has maximum TRP.
