Destiny 2:  Vault of Glass Raid Nostalgia

The Raid that started the hype of raids for the Destiny universe has not come back to the latest Season of Destiny 2! Many players anxiously waited to play the Raid once again in the Destiny 2 setup as many things have changed since it was first release about seven years ago. I was definitely one of them as the first time in the original Destiny was almost life changing for me as it moved me from a Call of Duty first player to a Destiny first.

I was not sure what to expect when the Raid was first released as the many changes in Destiny 2 felt like it would be an easy experience considering how flexible the game has become for players to prepare loadouts for our characters. However, Bungie also prepared the start of the Raid with a challenge for most players. Given how busy I was, I did not prepare for a day one Raid try but instead I sat and enjoyed a couple of hours of streaming to watch the top players in the world to compete for World's First.

I was happy to watch that the changes to the Raid were minimal and well balanced. As a returning player, it did not feel like it was a full experience to learn once again. The main changes were largely mechanical but logical in that it was stop a steep curve to overcome. Days after the release, I was able to get the old crew together to give it a try. With the help of some new friends, we ventured in and had a great time remembering successes and failures from Destiny 1 runs. We got to the end with very few restarts but the end was quite a challenge. However, after a couple of hours we finally completed it!
