Have you ever tried to make a raw egg "stand" so that the longer part can hold upright in a vertical direction without any arrest ?

The activity of making standing eggs is apparently not a strange thing in some cultures, even until it becomes a special activity on the celebration of a certain day. However, there is a myth that seems to need to be straightened out of the celebration in terms of simple physics and astronomy concepts.

One of the festivities in which there is an activity of making standing eggs is Peh Cun, or better known as Duanwu Festival in the international Chinese community. Peh Cun is commemorated on the 5th of the 5th month on the Chinese calendar.

Peh Cun himself referred to as the Hokkien dialect for the word pachuan (扒 船, meaning: rowing boat) because usually in this day held a dragon boat rowing race.

Even so, in the celebration of Peh Cun, the most frequent media attention is the activity of establishing eggs. It is said that, at 12 o'clock noon on Peh Cun day, eggs can be established more easily than usual. This egg-raising activity often includes people who actually do not commemorate Peh Cun's own day, to co-establish eggs. An experiment has even been recorded in the record books MURI (Museum Rekor Indonesia) with the number of standing eggs most.

From the perspective of a skeptic, of course the truth of the effect mentioned in this paper on the "ability" of an egg to stand is highly questionable.
In short as the cover of this paper, eggs can actually be established anytime, with enough patience.
Of course, the roughness of the surface of the egg, the roughness of the surface surface area of the egg will have an effect. But certainly, there is no effect from the Moon, or even from the 12 hour daylight.
