Synero WildSpark is Going BETA – Possible Competitor to Steemit

in #blog7 years ago

WildSpark opens for Beta on June 30th. This is Synereo’s first major application for the attention economy. This will enable contributing Amp’s currency to content creators who have uploaded their material to the network. Additionally, a link is created to be shared with others. As they contribute and amplify, the money is shared across the creator and curators. It is a shared network where the community benefits through participation.

Synereo’s full roadmap can be found at http://www.synereo.com/learn-more/.

Competition for Steemit

This looks similar to Steemit, but seems more like a pyramid payout tier, where a financial investment must be made and they the curator gets money from those they attract to contribute after them. So there are differences as Steemit does not require spending money to upvote.

Overall, this might be good to get more overall visibility to the world for such decentralized social platforms. The biggest hurdle is awareness and familiarization by the public. This is a massive market and there is plenty of room for many different platforms.

For those interested you can sign up for the WildSpark beta at https://www.wildspark.me

Beta users should expect a Google Chrome extension that supports YouTube as well as free AMPs to test the product: amplify favorite videos, reward favorite creators, and share links with others. Developers will invite users on a daily basis, as they gather feedback about the product.

It sounds like a pyramid commission scheme.

Yes, which promotes every tier to get others to watch/view the content, thereby driving the social traction. Good in one way, but the pyramid aspect seems a bit seedy in some way.

Steemit is already ahead of all the competitors because it has a head start of about one year and many people are joining everyday, unless they bring something unique to the table, only then they can defeat steemit @mrosenquist

Agreed! We have a very strong and growing community, as well as a first-to-market advantage.

It sounds like a good idea, however I am not completely sold yet, I did sign up for the beta though just to test it out. I don't really see it as a Steem competitor either, this is just to share already existing videos, possibly streams etc through a link that you create by Wildspark.

I am interested to see how they handle content. I too just signed up for Beta. We'll see if I get in. Good luck!

So you have to buy amps and pay a curator and share the link --> you get rewards when the curator gets paid again from other users?

Yes, it is something like that. If you find good content, you pay the creator and become a curator (you are given a link that promotes that content). If others follow your link and also pay the creator, you get a share of it.

I don't see this working in the short term if it requires Google access. No one into crypto will want to willingly cooperate with the NSA like that.
