An Education on Left and Right

So today I am going to try to explain the misconception or misunderstanding of what is the political left and political right, consider this a logical education.

So firstly lets take a look at the words Political Spectrum and what it actually means. The word political means relating to the government of a country, and the main context relates to government. So then what exactly does the word government mean, which is the action or manner of controlling or regulating a state, organization, or people. The main context in that explanation is control. The political spectrum is basically a scale of government control.

On the one end of the scale is complete control and on the other end there is no control. The left side of the scale is basically all form of government control and collectivism, and the extreme left would be some form of dictatorship or monarchy. The right side of the scale would be things like less government or limited government, more in the favor of the individual, with the extreme right being absolute no control like anarchy. This is pretty simple to understand right, well even collage professors seem to have a hard time fathoming this simple concept.

The idea that the right side of the spectrum is somehow equated with fascism is a gross misunderstanding of the basic meaning. There is very little difference between all the forms of collectivism, they are all pretty much the same dangerous animal. This misinterpretation of the left and right political dynamic happened somewhere after the second world war, and it was done so by the almost by mistake to make it seem that socialism was the opposite of fascism. Dinesh D'Souza does a really great explanation of this, I highly recommend you check it out.
