Thought Of The Day - Government Promises

Defying Both Economic Reality and Common Sense

The king of free shit for everyone, Bernie has recently made the promise that he would guarantee a job for every American with at least a $15-per-hour wage and full health benefits.

When asked how this would be implemented or funded, a representative said that they have not done a costing as of yet or figured out how they would fund this plan. I don't really know if I need to write anything more than that to show why this is the dumbest idea ever. Think of it like me saying everyone on Steemit is going to be a $20 dollar upvote every time they post and a Ferrari, it's just completely ridiculous. I mean how would I be able to promise something unachievable, just because I say something doesn't make it true, I might as well just be promising everyone a magical unicorn that can poo gold.

What I find even more tragic, is not so much that the millions of masses believe such a complete and utter lie, but it is that there are educated people who know this is a lie say nothing. They say nothing because it has nothing to do with truth and the reality of what can and can not be, it is about power. People would rather hear a beautiful lie than an uncomfortable truths. These politicians sell these lies to get votes, votes give them power, and they will say anything to get power, regardless of how impossible the lie really is.

I think the video above illustrates just how impossible such a promise is to achieve, as well as gives us a better understanding of why it so utterly insane. The government can not provide anyone with work, and it is ridiculous to think that they can just pay for everything. Where do you think the money comes from, and at what point are they spending more than they are getting in? When your expenses become bigger than your income, you need to make some changes and spend less money, or you need to find a way of increasing your income, this is basic economics. Governments are no different, the problem is that the government of the USA is not spending any less money, they just keep adding expenses. They have a national debt of $22 Trillion and unfunded liabilities of $180 Trillion, which keeps growing at a unfathomable rate on a daily basis. What people don't seem to understand it that that debt is being passed on to the children and those kids who aren't even born yet. Somewhere this need to end, and it's not just America, it almost every country doing the exact same. Human desire is infinite, but resources are finite.

What an asinine statement to make. Good luck with that Bernie. I agree though, there are way too many educated people out there that are not only buying into this garbage but also grabbing a shovel and flinging this shit all over the place. I personally do believe that people have the right to "affordable" health care and an education. The problem is that both systems are broken and no one seems willing to fix it.

BTW: I will be expecting my $20 upvote on this comment within 7 days and you can send the Ferrari in the mail. LOL

Great post man.

LOL Seriously you guys rock,

If you would just go ahead and leave the $20 upvote on this comment then you would get a quarter of it back to put toward the next one. Winner!

Probably not happening, huh? Any of it.

hahahahaha Tom I just love your sense of humor, thanks for the comment good sir.
