Not When You Add Value

The older I get the more I realize the benefit at learning things I have already learn, reevaluating what you have studies maybe a few years ago.

The video below takes a very simplistic look at how amazing the free market is, which is the fundamentals of capitalism, well that and ownership. He uses the example a a pen and a dollar, let's in this scenario use the example of a post and a upvote, this is steemit after all. I don't actually think this is the best example but let's go down this thought experiment rabbit hole, I bet you are noticing that I'm writing this as I think. You have a post and I have a upvote, so in order for you to get my upvote you have to provide me with something valuable or something that I consider to be of value. That is basically it, you have to make sure that your post is considered valuable by me, that is how the free market works. Take Apple for example, they build phone that people want, they are not evil people, they make things that people want.

Voluntary exchange is also one of the most intricate parts of the free market, you don't have to make a post and I don't have to upvote you. You can't force me to upvote your post, and I can't force you to write about things I like, you could choose to do some investigation and find out what I might be interested in and write about it. This is again what companies like Apple does, they do massive amounts of research to make sure they can produce products that people want.

"Socialism states that you owe me something simply because I exist. Capitalism, by contrast, results in a sort of reality-forced altruism: I may not want to help you, I may dislike you, but if I don't give you a product or service you want, I will starve. Voluntary exchange is more moral than forced redistribution." - Ben Shapiro

Free market capitalism is the natural state in which trade flows, much like the way a water which is running down a mountain follows the path of least resistance. When force is brought into the equation, the effects will always have a negative outcome. The same way we naturally all have equal opportunity, and what I mean is, we all have a opportunity to take part in this game called life and in the free market. Compare that to equality of outcome, the only way to achieve this is with the use of force, you would have to forcefully redistribute. This is why we can look back at communist or socialist regimes and only see complete and utter destruction, and millions dead in the wake of applying force by the government. Where you find capitalism or even fractions of it you will find prosperity, I'm starting to thing of it like I think of the force, collectivism is the dark side and individualism and capitalism is the light.

"In socialism, private property is anathema, and equal distribution of income the first consideration. In capitalism, private property is cardinal, and distribution left to ensue from the play of free contract and selfish interest on that basis, no matter what anomalies it may present." - George Bernard Shaw

I like free markets personally, I hope we get one here in America again sometime...lol

hahahahah you're too funny @read3986

Incredibly spot on. I think what we are seeing in the US is a form of corporate socialism. Another topic, another day.

Individual capitalism is the answer to a great many problems in my opinion.

Thanks for a well thought out post.
