"Peryahan" - Pinoy Carnival
Every 2nd week of February, a Sto.Nino feast is celebrated in this town in Bulacan, and as a tradition of this event includes "Peryahan - a variety of fairgrounds activities such as amusement rides, carnival games and shows."
My kids wanted to come to this event so last night at 8pm, we went there with my wife and 2 children, we ride a trike for about 10 minutes to reach the place. As expected, there are lots of people who also went to the event to have fun.The road is almost close because people are walking on the road and many vendors are selling different items from the sidewalk, from cellphone accesories ,dress, to household things.
At the entrace, you need to pay Php.5 or $0.1 per head as an entry fee. After about 10 steps from the entrance,we were met by lots of people lining up to the amusement activities. There were a few of them such as Carousel, Ferris Wheel, Caterpillar Amores, Octopus Octo Dragon, Viking Pirate and Funslides, all of this activities youll pay Php.35 or USD0.7 for entrance.
My kids chose to ride Carousel which is usually for children below 10 years old while the other rides are designed for teens and adults activities. While my kids and my wife are riding the carousel, I am playing money games from the side.
Card Games : your money is multiply by 4 when you win.
Color Games : if your chosen color matches the dise, youll win the same amount of what you bet or depends on how many times your color appeared face front from the dise.
I got about Php.70 pesos coins and bet in the color games first, I bet my 20 pesos as a start and luckily I won and it doubled my money, then I went on to play the color game and luckily I won again. The night is good to me as I won about Php200 or USD4.
Before we goes home, we went on to play the Colour Pattern, its a fun game and my youngest enjoyed it a lot. She even won several coins in her 5th tries and eventually lost all of it in the end.
Colour Pattern : throw a coin inside a square pattern with the equivalent prizes either in the form or food or money.
Several more games that we didnt try because of too many people on queue.
Firing a Ball.
We went home after about 3 hours and arrives at 11pm, we are all tired and clean up and went straight to bed.
Looking back, It was my first time after many years that I went to Peryahan, I remember when I was a child that I used to enjoy it a lot with my mom and dad, now its my turn to do the same to my kids. It was fun and makes me realised that this small things will make a mark to my kids that when they grow up and having kids of their own. They will remember that one time, their dad also brings them to Peryahan.
