Such trash talking points and a shocking inability accept the charcter development decisions of well known franchises
So many things wrong with this video and it gets hard to stay focused when the speaker starts bringing up examples from Terminator and Marvel Cinematic Universe so I'll concentrate on the Star Wars stuff.
- He is focusing on specific aspects and ignoring the work as a whole.
- He does not see that from a character development persepective the decisions made to all the characters seem reasonable.
- He agrees with over powered male characters in these stories but thinks over powered female characters ruin the story.
A few points I would use to counter him that seem fairly obvious to me are:
Star Wars is not a religion and everyone knows this is true.
Luke Skywalker's reputation was never destroyed he just grew old.
Rey adapted to her powers just as quickly as Luke did.

Rey was an invincible badass right out of the gates though. She was smarter, faster and had zero flaws as far as I was able to tell. I didnt even bother to watch the third movie...
A lot of people are going to REEEE at that one lol..
But honestly if you rewatch the old movies you will see that they had much better writing overall. Especially in terms of character interactions. A lot of people just see that the newer movies lack more in the writing department and latch on to whatever explanation fits best. A Mary sue is nothing more than just a badly written character when you break it down.
The Star Wars franchises is also being hit for having badly made games and micro transaction cash grabs. So bad writing, micro transactions and god knows what else. Sprinkle on the fact that some dumbass somewhere probably declared the movie to be perfect because white males should self murder and you have pretty much killed the franchise in the water.
Star Wars just kinda sucks these days and its not really so much leftists dogma that did it. Its lackluster writing and too much bad marketing. Rogue One was a great movie and it was littered with leftist bullshit. I fucking loved the Lord Of The Rings movies and that shit had the Wraith king get 2 shot by a stronk female.
People are mostly just sick of bad writing overall. If Star Wars still had great writing then nobody would say shit honestly.
Holy shit though he is dead on about how video games promote capitalistic conservative behavior. I have played countless games and never found a single one of them to promote socialism / communism. All games want you to grind mobs for loot so you can grind bigger mobs for more loot.
