FUNCTIONS OF F1 – F12 KEYS AND WHAT THEY PRODUCE WHEN COMBINED WITH OTHER KEYS

The below are the percolate of the Function keys:

F1 – serves as the help key.
F2 – gives you the permission to rename or edit an active cell.
F3 – allows you to make use of search features.
F4 – it if used to close an active window.
F5 – allows you to refresh or reload a page or the window.
F6 – move the cursor to the address bar in most internet browser.
F7 – used to spell check and program check a document in Microsoft Windows “eg Microsoft word”.
F8 – this is used to access boot menu in Windows when turning on the computer.
F9 – helps to refresh a document in a Microsoft word, send and receive emails in Microsoft Outlook.
F10 – helps to activate the menu bar in an open application. This function doesn’t work only on clicking F10 but it also has an additional key “shift key” to it for it to be able to perform this task “shift+F10”.
F11 – view full screen or reduce screen in Internet browser or create a new chart.
F12 – Opens save as dialog box in Microsoft word.

However most of the Function keys won’t be enjoying when used alone. They also have the task they perform when combined with another key.

Shift+F2 – Can be used to create a cell comment.
Shift+F3 – Function Dialog Box.
Shift+F11 – Can be used to insert a new worksheet.
CTRL+F3 – Name manager dialog box.
ALT+ F8 – Macro Dialog Box.
ALT+F11 – Visual basic editor.

And many other functions.
