Reflecting as a Mother or Parent You Need To

in #blog5 years ago

Hello Steemians

So how many of you can answer yes to any of these questions?

  • No time for myself
  • Putting yourself last
  • Always making sure doctors, dentists are booked for the rest of the family but you constantly say to yourself I'll be
    right.
  • Or wake up and just want that extra hour sleep in.

SHOULD I KEEP GOING!

Well I know this used to be me but not anymore. Unfortunately when its gets so bad I lost myself and became sick and a feral mother. YES a feral mother so no longer able to get the hair cut as often as I should of and the nails done all because I was taking care of everyone else.

But then I stopped and said to myself who the Hell is taking care of me? I HAD NO ANSWER.

I then decided I wasn't going to live this way anymore and I'm going to do something about it. My first step was to tell my husband how I felt. Well he wasn't aware how I was feeling or how I needed time to escape the pooey bum kids. I feel he didn't notice as I have always been a Independence person all my life since 16 and a hard worker as I grew up in the country.

The next step was, working on my mental state. Due to the feeling and emotions that arises on a daily basis I did some self reflecting. I found I was missing most of all is "I feel like a woman" OMG no one break out the Shania Twain song alright.

So I make sure once a month I get my hair done or feet done or a massage. OMG Bliss And I can tell any of you that is reading this, you will even start to dress better as I know I did.

I then went onto a outlet while the kids are at home playing I researched natural remedies and going back to basics I got into essential oils and now I help other families. This is a great way to zone out and focus and realign mentally.

Just remember its all upstairs that is holding you back. Also don't use the excuse, "I don't have time" as I did. I wrote down everything that week and found gaps and it was doable. Its all in your head I'm sorry.

I have a 2 year old that doesn't talk yet. So I have appointments with him. Also his brother who is 7 has Autism so I'm making appointments for him at home and school. Also liaising with teachers and specialists. Ohh and I just got the all clear from the hospital that my heart is all good. What happened you ask? Well it was too much stress and not enough timeout for me before so I burnt out and had chest pains. Yep but not anymore for over 6 months I'm ready to move forward with my oil business but most of all keep feeling like a woman.

I just wanted to share this with you all as I know everyone at some point of there life might fall off the rails, well I hope I have helped you back on to keep going as you are great.

I would love to hear from you all how you get through or if any of this info has helped you.

Cheers
