Make sure the top banner looks good at 800 x 465 pixels. That is the ratio for the thumbnail that will be created from the first image.

You can replace the Q in the table with an image of a Q

Then it will show up in the thumbnail and people will be able to recognize it.
You can easily break up your image into 3 pieces, and it will look just the same.
Also, 800px width is all that steemit will show, so the 1,317 is just wasted bandwidth.
