Just how picky is the west with food...?

in #blog6 years ago

I've often talked about the decadent west, and the 'softness' that material success brings with it...

It has been noticed in 'the fall of empire', historically speaking - that food takes a much higher place of importance, the closer 'empire' comes to falling...People who cook food achieve stardom, for example.
(Imagine a chef being a star?!)
People who cook food become celebrities...

Many thanks to @galenkp (and @eveuncovered) for the inspiration of the video parody...

(I tried my best to use dtube- for 30 mins - but it was refusing service, so I had to go to you tube..)

Enjoy...

Americans are weird when it comes to food.

All of their vegetables have to be perfect, clean and freshly washed.
Even have automatic sprayers in super-markets to keep the produce glistening.

These americans go to a real farmers market and they are appalled.
Potatoes that are dirty! EEeeeek.

So, lots of plastic wrap. Lots of packaging.

Americans are almost freakish clean freaks (while in stores)

Americans care about the outside of the product being absolutely clean, but they care nothing about the inside of the product.

This is a fact!! I have my own garden but I'm most certainly a red-herring!!
